Sometimes, words on a page just don’t do a concept justice. Sometimes you need to hear them! Sometimes, you need to feel the energy behind them. So I’ve been working on a YouTube channel to help provide information to those interested learning more about oxalate.
I’m also involved in a sister channel, called the “Wizards of Ox” – and I’m one of the “Wizards”. For those who like long form video, this will be for you. We often talk about more in-depth topics, with reviews of research, and each video is usually an hour (or more!)
So, while I have a post on this blog about the Oxalate Dirty Dozen for 2021, which you can find here and here, you can also hear myself and my colleagues discuss our thoughts in 2024 on a “new” dirty dozen in the video above. (Keep in mind that while the highest oxalate foods may not change, we may find that the world is more focused on certain ones. For instance, when chia started to “have a moment” in the gluten free world, it certainly got our attention – because chia is crazy high in oxalate!)
We may also find that the science on oxalate is constantly changing – because new researchers follow new directions and discover new relationships between oxalate and health conditions. While this may be frustrating in some ways, it may also open up new ways to heal and new help for those who are sick. That latest news may be found faster on my video channel than my blog posting.
For more frequent bursts of high quality diet and supplement information, you may want to wander over to my Patreon channel. There I post most days (in conjunction with my colleague and associate Ally Wilinski, who we still need to introduce on this website); the posts are practical, applicable information from recipes to recipe hacks to discussions of supplements to the latest research and information on health conditions. The price point is kept reasonable (because we all understand how expensive it is to be sick!) You can join at Level 1 and get access to all that I’ve listed for $5 per month.
If you join Patreon at Level 2, you will also get a monthly menu plan with all the recipes and estimated oxalate levels – so that you know what you are doing. (And many of these recipes plans will be dealing with other known issues that can be related to oxalate, including histamine, salicylate and sulphur food intolerance). Level 2 costs you $10 a month, and you get everything from Level 1 as well.
At Level 3, you get a monthly Live Zoom call (with the recording posted to the Patreon site) with both myself and Ally – and we answer questions you may have. It’s a great value to be able to get access to oxalate knowledgeable practitioners who will try to give you that extra support in real time. You get everything included in the other levels, and you pay $15 a month.
Need some custom and more in-depth support? You can book a Discovery call to learn more or an appointment with either Ally or Monique through this website. See here and scroll through the options list to find what you are looking for!
Wanting to learn more via this blog? Stay tuned! I will be posting here again every week.
